Hi everyone! Still trying my hardest to post more, because I love blogging so much and love sharing things with you all. I’ve been pretty busy with work, and recently came home from a weekend vacation. Last weekend, I was in Atlanta, MI where my family cabin is. It was a 3 day weekend with my family and it was a great getaway from reality.
My family cabin
We headed over to Rogers city, which was about a 45 min drive from our cabin. Rogers city is a really small city, but adorable and it was actually my first time visiting here. We walked along shore of Lake huron and it was super chilly but also beautiful.
On the way back to our Cabin, we stopped at Ocqueoc Falls. We walked through the trails and it was really pretty & magical.

I never once thought Ohio was the place I’d have on my bucket list. Little did I know of these hidden gems until close friends and family mentioned how beautiful Hocking Hills were. I decided to take it upon myself to make a weekend trip out of it, so my boyfriend and I left on a Friday and came home Sunday evening. I wanted to share our trip experience.
Where we stayed
When I first originally booked for this trip, I told Andy I wanted to try Airbnb for the first time. We found a very cute & cozy Airbnb in Athens, OH which is 45 mins away from Hocking Hills state park. At the time, we couldn’t find anywhere closer to Logan, OH which is the city the state park is in. Our stay here was lovely, peaceful and extremely comfortable.
When we arrived to our Airbnb Friday night, we walked around in Athens. It’s a really beautiful college town filled with cool places to check out. First, Andy and I ate at Casa Nueva, a mexican restaurant and cantina for brunch. Our food was so fresh and we loved that our meal was made with locally grown ingredients. We had omlettes and homefries and it was delicious. After, we stopped by Import House, a local shop that is filled with cool items like tapestries, glass bowls, footwear, jewelery and other handmade items.
Hocking Hills was about a 45 minute drive from our Airbnb. The actual drive into the park is about 25 minutes from the entrance on the highway. First we decided to visit Cedar Falls. We hiked a bit past cedar falls, and found other beautiful scenic areas.
Then, Old Man’s Cave. We explored the upper and lower falls
We spent most of Saturday exploring the state park and left Sunday morning to head home. We stopped in Columbus to check out a few places I found on Pinterest, but unfortunately a lot of places were closed for Easter. We did however grab Ice cream from Jeni’s splendid Ice cream in German Village!
We had an amazing adventure together, needless to say, we will be back. Thanks for reading! Please like and comment with your favorite places in Columbus or your favorite hike in Hocking Hills!
